The scheme of Kendriya Vidyalaya was adopted by the Govt. of India in the year 1963 on the basis of recommendation of the second pay commission . At first 20 Regimental Schools were taken up as Central School (C.S.) known as Kendriya Vidyalaya to impart education to the children of transferable Central / State Govt. employees . Later on , the same facilities have been extended all over the country and at present there are more than 1200 Kendriya Vidyalayas. It is an autonomous organization under Ministry of HRD , Govt. of India and the Minister of HRD , Govt. of India is its chairman. Kendriya Vidyalaya Gangapur City was established in 2003 in Civil sector under the autonomous body named “Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan”, now the Vidyalaya is running upto class XII (Science). Active involvement of parents and guardians is expected for all around development of the students and the Vidyalayas. We strongly believe that staff members of Vidyalaya and parents can together develop the spirit of national integration and create a sense of indianess among the students who are the nation’s builders and pillers.
